CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

5/02: First official freelance gig. Promotional "artists' rendering" illustration of planned Veterans War Memorial in St. Germain, Wisconsin; created illustrations based on blueprints.

8/07: Custom tattoo design; the design honored the client's friend who had passed away. Although I had drawn some for friends before, this was the first serious tattoo design that the client had professionally inked, at a large size and with minimal changes required.

2/09: Undergraduate and graduate career; participated in several group and solo shows; designed various flyers and posters for students groups and our fraternity.

8/09: Graduated from UW-Madison with a Masters Degree in Fine Art.

3/10: I was encouraged by my friend Derek to participate in the weekly t-shirt design contest at shirt.woot.com. My first design was entered on this date. It didn't win, but I got great feedback and learned how to prepare files for printing and promotion.

4/10: Won my first woot shirt contest (3rd place) only a month after I began entering them, which was a very exciting and encouraging achievement! The prize money floated me during the summer while I made drastic changes to my personal life, including moving out of my condo and searching for a new career path.

6/11: Hired as a digital artist for PerBlue Inc., making art assets for mobile and social video games. This would be my first full time job in my chosen career field. It would also prove to be one of the most positive experiences, generally, in my life. The other members of the art team would quickly become valued friends as well as colleagues.

6/11: Second tattoo for a client to be inked professionally.

7/11: Freelance t-shirt design for the James Randi Educational Foundation; designed three t-shirts for sale at annual "The Amazing Meeting" skeptics conference.

7/11: Freelance t-shirt design for UMC Rev. David Weekly to promote his autobiography.

2011/2012: At some point the "marriage in the Bible" infographic I made several years prior went viral on the Internet.

4/12: The release of PerBlue's second major location-based MMORPG, Parallel Mafia; and the first major commercial product that I was involved in from the ground up. At launch, all items, skills icons and enemy characters will be of my own design. All of the art for them will be mine except several of the enemies, which were drawn by my co-worker Kyle based on my original concepts.

8/12: My MFA project was picked up and featured by The Advocate, the oldest and largest LGBT publication in the U.S.

11/13: Switched to full-time freelance illustration and graphic design.

6/14: Officially tied up all loose ends, and completed my move to Hollywood, California! :D
